About Ezra
My path to medicine was not built on perfect grades, perfect scores, or a perfect application. Like many of the students I work with, I had to learn how to study effectively, improve my weaknesses, navigate setbacks, and develop systems that actually worked.
I completed my undergraduate training in Biochemistry before earning a Master's degree in Epidemiology from a top public health program. I then attended a Top 25 medical school and matched into Anesthesiology at a highly regarded academic residency program.
Throughout that journey, I became increasingly interested in a question that extends beyond medicine itself: why do some students continue to improve while others remain stuck despite working incredibly hard?
That question ultimately led me to tutoring.
Over the years, I have worked with students preparing for the MCAT, USMLE, shelf exams, clerkships, and residency applications. Many come to me after trying other tutors, study programs, courses, or expensive resources that failed to address the real problem. Often the issue is not intelligence or work ethic. It is an ineffective study process, flawed review strategy, inefficient reasoning, poor organization, timing issues, or a mismatch between how they are studying and what the exam actually demands.
My approach is highly individualized. Rather than applying the same system to every student, I focus on identifying the specific factors limiting performance and developing a strategy tailored to that student's goals, strengths, weaknesses, timeline, and learning style.
Working together requires effort. There are no shortcuts, magic resources, or quick fixes. Meaningful improvement comes from deliberate practice, honest self assessment, and a willingness to change the way you approach learning and testing. My role is to help you identify the highest yield opportunities for growth and provide the guidance, structure, and accountability needed to reach your goals.
What motivates me most is helping students enter medicine and succeed once they get there. Whether you are preparing for the MCAT, navigating medical school, studying for board exams, or trying to excel during clinical rotations, my goal is not simply to help you pass the next test. It is to help you develop the skills, habits, and confidence that will serve you throughout your career.
When you work with me, you are not just getting a tutor. You are gaining someone who is genuinely invested in your long term success and committed to helping you reach your full potential.
